The mission of the Castro Organ Devotees Association (CODA) is to provide a musical instrument of significant artistic merit for San Francisco. It will serve not only to entertain but to inspire renewed public interest in the organ—the most complex and versatile of all instruments.

CODA will fulfill its mission through the following initiatives:

Community Educational Outreach: Educate and promote the art of theatre/classical/symphonic organ music through public concerts, facility tours, demonstration presentations, recordings, recitals, and distribution of printed and electronic materials. Educational experiences will include background on performance practices, historical perspectives of organs, organ literature, and performers.

Music Performance Educational Outreach: Provide performance opportunities for world-renowned concert artists, local and touring musical groups, school and community performing groups, and organ-related organizations to utilize the instrument for performances, lectures, seminars, recitals, and conventions. Provide open console sessions for professional, amateur, and budding organists to gain experience playing a large, versatile concert organ. 

K-16 Educational Outreach: Provide field trip opportunities for teachers and students of all ages to gain knowledge about, as well as experience live performances of theatre, classical, and symphonic organ music. Scholarship opportunities will be offered for students to receive lessons on the instrument in an effort to build future generations of organists, organ enthusiasts, and listeners within the community at large.
